From the Peabody-winning co-creators of “King Corn” comes “Truck Farm“, a new documentary examines all the ways Americans are determined to grow local food where ever they are- from truck beds to roof tops and everywhere in between.
In “Truck Farm” filmmaker Ian Cheney takes a first-hand look at the quirky world of urban agriculture. He plants a garden on the only land he’s got: the back of his Grandad’s old pickup truck. The film is a whimsical call-to-farms, featuring nutritionist Marion Nestle, chef Dan Barber, and musical narration by Brooklyn’s new sound The Fishermen Three. It premiered in January at the Wild & Scenic Film Festival in California, earning a special Honorable Mention from the festival’s jury.
You can arrange a screening with your Rotary Club, garden club, Scout troop, classroom, congregation, or neighborhood association in partnership with MCE. Email klogansmith@moenviron.org.
