St. Peter's Levee

The City of St. Peters has proposed a massive new "500-year" levee in the Mississippi River floodplain north of St. Louis. This levee, if built, would kick off a new wave of floodplain development north into the vast Confluence floodplain. The Coalition is working with many other conservation organizations from around the country to stop this dangerous trend. We hope to prevent a repeat of mistakes made over the past 20 years in the Missouri River floodplain in St. Louis County.
